Grade 5

And so it begins.  Bradyn's last year of elementary school.  Next year, she'll be off to Middle School.  How???

Day 1 - only 30 minutes, Bradyn didn't want to 'waste' her new clothes.  But she did wear her sparkly new wedge runners.

Day 2 - new overalls.  These are the best!  They're stretchy and Bradyn says they're super comfy.  Although she wasn't wearing her glasses in the morning, Bradyn came home with them on and I had to take a picture.  LOVE this outfit.

Day 3 - pretty new dress with attached scarf.  When I picked Bradyn up at after school care, she was playing Twister with her friends.  Dress was all tucked into her tights and the scarf was tucked down into the neck of her dress.  Pretty to functional in no time flat.  LOL 

This year it only took 4 days to find out who Bradyn's teacher was going to be.  Not bad compared to past years!  Bradyn is in a 4/5 split again and really likes her teacher.  For some subjects they will be grouping all of the Grade 5 French kids together and she'll be going back to last year's teacher.  Not sure how I feel about this but I'm trying to keep an open mind (let's just say last year had some hiccups).  Regardless, we're all very excited about this year and look forward to the new adventures.

Ososyoos

Kevin, Bradyn and I had a little getaway vacation to Osoyoos at the end of August.  I admit that I was a bit worried after last year's poor temperatures up there, but my fears were quickly erased.  We rented a two-bedroom condo from the same people as last year, but we were on the second floor this time.  It was glorious!  We layed by the pool and read for hours.  Leisurely mornings, lots of relaxing, movies, and good food.  It was a great trip.

On our way to Osoyoos, we stopped at The Grist Mill in Keremeos.  It really was a quaint little gem.

Day Two beach babes

It started to cloud over in the afternoon so we headed to Rattlesnake Canyon for some mini golf and bungee trampolining.  

For supper, we headed down to Oroville Washington to a quaint little Mexican restaurant we'd heard of but had never made it to on previous trips.  It was great!  Here's Bradyn trying to decide if she did or did not like the virgin lime margarita she and I ordered to share.  (she ended up deciding no, and ordered a Shirley Temple)

On our last night, we headed to a restaurant called Ambrosia for Indian food and as usual, we were not disappointed.  After dinner, we took a quick walk on the beach and goofed around trying to get a family selfie.
