Bradyn is 6 Weeks Old Today
I just cannot believe how fast the time is flying. 6 weeks ago right now, Kevin and I were sitting in my hospital room staring in awe at our 2-hour old tiny little bundle of joy. She has changed so much in 6 short weeks. Her cheeks are getting chubbier, she's starting to smile more, her eyes are focusing and she even occasionally looks at you when you say her name. She is absolutely beautiful and I love her so much. I love watching Kevin with her. He talks to her, plays with her, cuddles and kisses her and much to my delight, has changed his fair share of diapers. He has also been my hero for those 11 pm feedings when I can barely keep my eyes open or speak. He changes and burps Bradyn and makes sure she gets safety tucked back into her crib. I don't know how I'd do it without him. Although it may be a little early, we got Bradyn a highchair (thanks Air Miles), mostly so her cousin Kiera can use it while she's visiting. As you can see, Bradyn is still a wee bit too small for it. Since we love having her at the dinner table with us, we just take the tray off. We look forward to watching her grow into the chair and now we can track her growth with "Highchair Shots".My big obsession these days is waiting for that nasty 6-week growth spurt and fussy phase I've been warned about, to hit. Do I dare to think our Angel baby will bypass the fussiness?
I Sure Miss My Gramma
My Gramma flew on a big plane to come and meet me two weeks ago. (Grampa couldn't make it right now but he's coming in a few months.) Mommy, Daddy & I picked her up at the airport and it was fun because she had all kinds of presents for me! We did lots of things while Gramma was here - shopping, we went for walks, we watched TV, we went out for dinner to 2 big-girl restaurants, and she taught me how to bake banana bread and cookies (that's us in the picture - sure wish Mommy would let me eat that icing). The best part about Gramma being here was getting so many hugs and kisses. Gramma had to leave on Sunday and we might not get to see her for a while. Mommy says we can use Aunt Sherri's web-cam to see her on the computer and we can send lots of pictures and videos so Gramma and Grampa can see how I'm growing. Mommy and I are all on our own during the days this week and we're making out pretty good, but I sure miss my Gramma. Lucky for me, I have another Grandma and Grandpa who live close by and love me just as much. Maybe Grandma will teach me to knit... Bradyn
My Baby's Growing Up
On Monday March 13 Bradyn was one month old. I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by. It seems like she's been with us forever. Brady had another checkup with the doctor on Tuesday and she is now 10 pounds 3 ounces. 10 pounds 3 ounces! I can't believe how fast she's growing. I guess I didn't need to worry about her getting enough to eat. She's also up to 23 inches long (from 20 at birth). Needless to say, the doctor is very pleased with her progress. Last night she slept for 5 hours so mommy is also very pleased. Let's just hope she keeps this up.
What's All This White Stuff?
Last week Bradyn had her first experience with snow. Seeing as how I am a lover of all things snowmen, it didn't take too much convincing from my mom to build one for Brady in our front yard. Like a true future manager, Bradyn sat in her carrier on the front porch and supervised the assembly of her new friend. We didn't have any coal for eyes, but cookies sure seemed to do the trick (Thanks for the cookies Grandma R!) Unfortuntately he didn't last too long but we sure had fun.
