Bradyn Hits The PNE

Yesterday, Kevin and I took my Dad & Bradyn to experience their first PNE. What a blast. The first main item on our agenda was the animal barn. Just like her Daddy, Bradyn was fascinated with all of the animals. Kevin took her into the petting zoo and she didn't hesitate to get near the goats and llamas. She pet a few and even managed to bring home a little souvenir on her shoe from standing in the hay. Next, Grampa, Brady & I hit the Showmart while Kev unfortunately lost some money in the casino. As we wandered around the fair, Bradyn was bright eyed and took in all the sights and sounds. Our second main item on the agenda was the Glen Campbell concert - it was fantastic! We staked out our spot on the grass and had our dinner as we listened to the sound check. Bradyn feasted on oatmeal cereal and had a few swigs of water from Mommy's water bottle. During the concert, Bradyn was bobbing her head to the music, right along with the rest of us. She also allowed herself to be serenaded to sleep for a quick Power Nap. Brady was mesmerized by the evening parade and all the lights in the midway on our way out at the end of the night. I'm so pround of our little girl - once again, she was an absolute angel out in public.

I want to send a special thank you to my 'cuz Brian. His patience with my computer stupidity paid off and I'm off and posting again. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that I don't run into any more glitches. Here's a picture of Brian and his daughter, cousin Kaylin, along with Sherri & cousin Kiera at Bradyn's Open House party in June. August 13 - A Big Day In Our House

Today was a very important day in our house for 3 reasons:

#1 - Kevin and I moved into our house 2 years ago today and have never looked back. We made it into the home we always wanted and are thankful every day that things worked out perfectly for us.

#2 - Little Bradyn turned 6 months old today. 6 months!!! I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by. She has changed so much in the past half year of her life that it's hard to believe she was once this tiny little being all squished up inside of me.

#3 - Bradyn had her first taste of solid foods this morning. We started her out with rice cereal and, although she didn't seem too excited by it, at least it all went in, without being spit back out. It makes me a little sad to know that we're on our way to her needing me less and less. At the same time, it's exciting to watch her grow and experience more. Some of the looks on her face this morning while she was eating were priceless. I look forward to every new adventure.

Another Successful Road Trip

Earlier this month we ventured out on our second road trip with Bradyn, and our friend Darren, in tow. We went to Kelowna for three days to do some winery tours and enjoy the Okanagan scenery. Once again, Bradyn's huge smile was a big hit everywhere we went. She is such a good traveller during the day but her night time sleeping habits need some definite work. It doesn't help that the second she makes a peep we quickly scoop her up and bring her to bed with us, but aren't vacations all about family and fun?

Technical Difficulties

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to let you know that I'm having problems posting pictures to the site right now so stay tuned - I've got lots of stories waiting in the wings. I have my favourite Centre-of-the-Universe Torontonian Computer Geek cousin on the case (I love you Brian) so hopefully it will all be fixed soon.

Our Washington Road Trip

Last week, Bradyn went on her first official road trip, to Washington state. On Wednesday we went down to Seattle where she saw her first Mariners baseball game. She was in total awe over all the people and loved all the sights and sounds. Near the end of the game she got tired and started to get upset when the fans nearby yelled suddenly, but overall, she had a blast. In Leavenworth on Thursday she was all smiles. While there, we went to Munchen Haus, a Bavarian Grill & Beer Garden. As we ate our traditional sausage with apple cider kraut and Kevin drank his Hefeweizen, Bradyn seriously contemplated the misting sprinkler system that kept us cool. However, in the end, she preferred her own method of keeping cool - chewing her clothes and keeping them soaking wet. Bradyn sat in the big girl highchairs when we went out to eat, and made friends with a very nice couple at Applebees on Thursday night in Everett, whom she entertained all during dinner. On Friday we drove up to Tulalip so Kevin could go to the casino while Bradyn and I went shopping at the outlet mall. Kev won $60 and Bradyn scored big in the clothes department. All in all it was a great trip. Bradyn slept most of the time while we were driving (although not so much at night which was a bit of a problem) and only had a few meltdowns over the 3 days. Next week we're off to Kelowna to tour some wineries so I hope she's just as good.
