Bradyn, The Wrestler

We all knew this day would come.  We just didn't know when.

On Sunday afternoon, Kevin, Bradyn and I walked over to the park across the road to enjoy the gorgeous sunshine.  While there, we ended up meeting a number of people from the neighbourhood - good fun!  Shortly before we were going to leave, we were speaking to a couple with a 12-month old boy.  I wasn't really paying attention to the conversation between Kevin and Anthony.... until I heard Anthony say that he was teaching a wrestling class at Pinetree Recreation Centre.  OH NO!!!  :-)

Kevin got all the details, and yesterday, he picked Bradyn up from daycare and off they went to her first official wrestling class.  Just to be clear, we're not talking WWE body-slamming, pile-driving wrestling.  We're talking collegiate wrestling (is that what they call it?).  Nonetheless, it is the basic wrestling skills that Bradyn may someday need, and was very anxious to learn.

I ended up staying late at work and couldn't go to watch, but Kevin made me feel like I was right there with them.  I think the best way to write the rest of this post is to just copy and paste the Blackberry Messenger conversation, complete with pictures, that transpired between Kevin and I. 

Brenda: Don't forget yoga pants, running shoes, snacks, water

I'm sure I don't need to tell you this because you probably figured it out on your own... Kevin is a VERY proud Daddy today.  Not sure how or if we're going to be able to manage Tuesdays (4:30-6:30) and Thursdays (4:45-6:45), but I have a feeling Kevin is now going to be very involved in Bradyn's extra-curricular activities. 

Happy Easter

I realize it's been a long time since I've posted pictures to this blog, but I haven't received any complaints or inquiries.  What does that mean?  Either nobody is checking in here anymore, or you are anxiously awaiting the next Bradyn sighting.  Which is it?

Bradyn spent the end of March Break with Grandma and Grandpa, so Kevin and I headed down to White Rock on Saturday afternoon for a great Easter dinner (thanks Jane & Glenn!) and to pick Miss B up and bring her home in time for the Easter Bunny's arrival.  Despite the fact that Kevin carried a limp, sleeping girl into the house and put her to bed, she was suddenly wide awake when she realized she hadn't left treats and a note for the Easter Bunny. 

On Easter morning, Bradyn was very excited to read the reply - all by herself!

By now, you know the Easter drill..... lots of eggs, running around the house searching, missing eggs that are right in front of her nose, being overly enthusiastic when she finds presents, and so on, and so forth.  In the end, Bradyn got way too much candy (mental note for next year), including what has become the traditional bunny & carrots.
