The Easter Videos

Sorry for the delay (and for having to break it into 3 parts), but here at last is the Easter morning video. I apologize for the bad camera shots in parts, but I was trying to be both videographer and photographer at the same time.

Swimming Lessons

This morning, Bradyn had her first official swimming lesson at the local rec centre - Swim Tots 1. I was so proud of her! At first I was worried she'd just keep talking and not listen to the teacher. Then I was afraid she was going to swim off and do her own thing because he had to keep calling her back. In the end she stuck close to her teacher, Taizo, and had a fabulous time.

Getting warmed up... notice there are four kids in the class at this point.

Sorry it's dark, but I tried the 'action' setting - not so great.

I call this the zombie shot because of the weird reflection in her eyes. Bradyn bounced off to the other side of the pool by herself, and then Taizo called her back. She insists that he told her to go.

And then there were three...

In the end, two of the four children finished today's class. I'm so glad it wasn't Bradyn that was scared and crying. Notice how Bradyn is gazing up at Taizo in this picture? I think she has a crush. She kept talking about her teacher all day - how funny he was, that he liked wearing a fireman's hat, that he was so nice.... Too cute.

All wrapped up, freezing cold after her lesson. I felt bad because Bradyn wanted to keep swimming, but I hadn't brought my suit. I should have known she'd want to stay. The last time we went swimming there, I had to drag her out after an hour and a half!

"I'm starving mom. I need a snack!"

We topped the morning off with a celebratory lunch at Tim Hortons. I think I could get used to this.

Happy Easter

I know that some of you will be checking every hour for Easter pictures, so I thought I'd get these up right away to save you some time. (But you'll have to wait for the best part... the video. Bradyn was just so excited this morning. I'm glad I got it on tape.)

Bradyn kept stopping and saying 'Cheese' as I was filming her, and kept saying how much she loved egg hunts. I haven't had this much fun in a long time.

The Easter Bunny had a little help from Grandpa on this one... a chocolate Pirate Ship.
What strikes me every time I look at this picture is how grown up Bradyn looks. Where did my baby go?

Once she gathered everything up, Bradyn parked herself on the floor to open up all the eggs. "MORE chocolate eggs.... I LOVE chocolate eggs!"

Forget "Cheese", now Bradyn says "Chocolate!"

We headed off to Leslie and Stefan's again this year for the big egg hunt. (As we were leaving, Leslie said they had 38 kids out today!!) Instead of choosing so many eggs of each size, this year you picked a poker chip out of the bag and had to find the 24 eggs with your number on them. What a blast! It took longer, but it was so much fun.

Notice the white chip in Bradyn's left hand.... she kept it close by to compare to the numbers on the eggs so she'd know when she found hers.

The best part of the egg hunt.... opening them all up to see what was inside.

Mommy already has a stomach ache, and there's lots more candy to eat.... I'll do my best to ensure Bradyn doesn't get any cavities from all that sugar.
