Making Her Daddy Proud

As I am sure all of you know, Kevin's passion is wrestling. Not a day goes by when he isn't teaching Bradyn a hold, a finishing move, bringing her up to date on a storyline or giving her some background information on someone.

Although this wasn't wrestling, I think last night may have been the Main Event in Kevin's efforts to teach Bradyn about sports. He may appear calm during Bradyn's outburst of affection at the end of this video, but I'm certain Kevin's heart was bursting out of his chest. What Daddy wouldn't be proud of his little girl after this performance while watching BC Lions football? Talk about passion! Do we have a future cheerleader?

Bradyn was only 4 weeks old the first time her and Nana made cookies together.

This time, she was a lot more help. (at least I assume she was...)

Fort Langley

After spending the day at home on Tuesday (we planted a garden!), we headed to Fort Langley on Wednesday. The plan had been for all of us to go to the BC Farm Machinery & Agricultural Museum (yep, Pappa's in town) and then wander around the shops. Unfortunately, plans changed....

Brady got cozy in the car, but then later said she felt sick. Well duh - who can read in a moving car silly?

Waiting in the Albion ferry line-up, right before we found out the battery was dead. Thank God for the forklift servicing truck beside us in the line - he had us going in no time.

Nana & Poppa took Brady with them to the museum, while Kevin and I headed to Canadian Tire for a new battery. We all met up later and ended the day as planned.

Family Fun In Stanley Park

As many of you know, Nana and Poppa arrived on Saturday to spend two weeks with us, and we are going to jam as much as we can into our short time together. On Sunday, we decided to take it easy at home visiting and planning our strategy for the next two weeks.

On Monday, we headed down to Stanley Park to visit the aquarium, have a picnic lunch, and hang out in the park.

A Real Telephone Conversation

I worked late tonight, so I called home to say goodnight to Bradyn before Kevin put her to bed. After silently rejoicing that she actually wanted to come to the phone (sometimes she's just too busy, or not in the mood), I waited anxiously to hear about her day. What followed still has me in awe, and smiling from ear to ear.

"Hello?" "Hi Bradybug, how are you?" "It's Mommy!" "It is. What are you doing?" "We're watching baby Popeye" "Are you brusing your teeth?" "Yes" "Did you eat your supper?" "Yes" "What did you have?" "We had pizza" "Did you go peepee on the potty?" "Yes" "Good girl. You be good for Daddy, OK?" "OK" "Night night sweetie" "Bye"

When Kevin came back on, he asked if I had just had an actual conversation with Bradyn. I don't think either one of us could believe it. OK, so maybe the conversation didn't happen exactly like that, but I swear to you that every question got an appropriate answer, and I felt like I was having an actual conversation. She's not a baby anymore - she's a real little person!!! To be honest, I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad, but it sure is exciting.
