Last Sunday marked the beginning of Bradyn's 6th birthday celebration. After her gymnastics class (which she is loving), we headed home for a quick lunch and then to Clever Cupcakes. Rather than having a party at home this year (because she didn't want her friends messing up her room), Bradyn decided that she wanted to go to a local cupcake bakery with her friends. The cupcakes are made of all natural ingredients in a nut-free facility and are YUMMY! What a blast - I think Kevin and I had just as much fun as the kids. I highly recommend this place for birthday parties. Getting the low-down from Juan, on what they were going to be doing.
Miss B, colouring her take-home box for one of the two cupcakes she would be decorating.
Showing off their artistic talents.
All ready for the kitchen tour.(P.S. - The little boy to Bradyn's right is Caleb - her 'husband'. Despite not being in the same school or daycare anymore, they are still very much in love. Too cute!)
Did you know they have to start baking at 5:30 in the morning and that they get their vanilla from Mexico?
Getting a taste of icing sugar (because they won't be hyper enough today).
Having some pizza, fruit and veggies, so they have enough energy to decorate their cupcakes.
Rolling out the fondant and cutting shapes to decorate their cupcakes with.
I call this Bradyn's 'Meg' look. Seriously.... click on the picture and take a closer look at the lips - does she not look like Meg Ryan?
Not sure if this photo actually caught her first or 5th attempt at trying to blow out the candle. This kid needs to work on her cardio and pump up her lung strength - it was embarassing.
"I want tea" (thank God it was just apple juice... could you imagine sugar AND caffeine?)
LOVE the pinky.
After the birthday party, we met Grandma & Grandpa and Uncle Dallas & Aunty Ita at Red Robin for dinner. Here are the birthday girl and birthday boy (whom we fondly refer to as Bradyn + 64)
Birthday smiles with Grandma & Grandpa.
Just a little excited about opening up her gift and seeing what was inside.
On Monday, her actual birthday, Bradyn had her second birthday cupcake - the icing was a bit smooshed from the box falling over, but it still did the trick. (And, it still took her at least 5 tries to blow out the candle.)
Making a birthday wish....
....then deciding that a birthday prayer was in order. Sure hope the wish came true after all that work!
After a jam-packed day, our birthday girl was off in dreamland pretty soon after her head hit the pillow. (I couldn't tell if her new doll, Coral Sea Shells, was sleeping or not, seeing as how she doesn't have eyelids.)
I can't wait to see what the next year brings. Happy Birthday Bradybug.
