Loon Lake

Last Monday, Kevin and Bradyn headed up to Loon Lake to spend a week at the cottage with Grandma and Grandpa. (I had to go out of town on business, so I joined them Saturday morning.)

I dropped Bradyn and Kevin off at the Greyhound station bright and early for their 5 hour trek to Cache Creek. Although they didn't get seats together on the bus (Bradyn sat in the seat ahead of Kevin), Bradyn apparently had a wonderful time visiting with her seat-mate, a wonderful lady Kevin estimated to be in her 60's. Bradyn was so comfortable that she even took a nap, using the lady's lap as a pillow.

Once at the lake, Bradyn kept busy with all kinds of activities. Here, she is honing her artistic talents by painting rocks.

A trip to Loon Lake wouldn't be complete without going fishing.

Little Miss B even managed to catch her first fish, and now has the fishing bug. Although I missed seeing her catch a fish, I couldn't help but giggle as I watched her with her little Dora fishing pole... casting and reeling it in, then 'bonking' the plastic yellow fish with her knuckles.

Although she helped clean her prize, she apparently didn't want to eat it.

Cowboy Kevin, chilling on the lake.
Our brave little swimmer took a bigger step this year out in the middle of the lake.... she didn't want Grandma to hold onto her. (Yes, I admit I was a wee bit anxious watching this, but I knew she was in good hands.)

This is one proud little girl.

Brady and her best buddy Emma.

Our visit ended with the princess taking one last ride in her custom chariot (Grandpa put a chair cushion in the trailer, along with a rope for Bradyn to hang on to).

See you again next year.
