It's Happening Too Fast

It's all starting to happen way too fast.

First of all, I am officially giving up on knowing anything about the whole teething process. Earlier this month, Bradyn got 2 more teeth and I didn't know what was going on. This week I thought she either had a cold, or, was having an allergy sensitivity to the yoghurt I gave her. When the cheeks got red, I figured it was a cold. Wrong again. This morning I see a new shining tooth - upper, left incisor. While brusing her teeth, I see that her lower, right incisor is coming in too. This poor little girl has teeth coming in all over the place and she is doing way better than I could hope. She loves to brush her own teeth, so we're getting her off to a good start at taking care of all these new pearly whites.

The other night, Kevin said Bradyn was crawling. I figured he meant her little modified version. I didn't realize until the next day that she was really starting to do it. She still only gets in 3 or 4 'steps' at a time before she's down on her belly again, but she definitely has the motions down and before you know it, she's going to be tearing all over the house. Guess I better start thinking about getting some baby gates and doing some baby proofing!

Now Bradyn is pulling herself up on things and standing. She's getting pretty steady, and will sometimes only hold on with one hand now. She's even taken a step or two while only holding on to me with one hand. She's not walking along the furniture or anything yet, so I think we're a little ways off from her walking on her own. However, if my walking knowledge is anything like my teething knowledge, she could be off and running tomorrow.

She has also discovered how to open her change table drawers and pull out all her pants. There have been a few squished fingers, but I think she's catching on to what not to do. On Thursday, she figured out how to open Mommy's drawer and pull out all her pants too. What fun!

Bradyn's not using any signs yet, but she definitely recognizes the signs for 'eat more'. When we ask her if she wants to eat more, she gets all excited and smiles. I'm not sure if she's ever going to sign back to us, but it's nice to know we are communicating.

I get so excited when I see her doing all these new things. She gets these big smiles and you can tell she's excited too. I am just so proud of her and I can't believe she's growing up so fast.

The really sad, depressing part of all this is that I have to go back to work 3 months from tomorrow. Time is flying by way too fast. It seems like just yesterday I was hoping Bradyn would do anything but lay in my arms like a little lump of Play-Doh. Now she's starting to do all the fun stuff and I'm realizing just how soon I'm going to have to leave her and not be able to spend all day, every day with her, watching her learn and explore. I definitely have to make the most of the time I do have left, and cherish every moment.

Who knew that having a baby could be so challenging and rewarding at the same time?

Look at that toe point! Do I see a tutu in Bradykin's future?
