Cousin Chaos

Sherri, Kiera and Robee came to visit us for 10 days at the beginning of July, and we were SO excited to have them here.  Even though we saw them last summer (and got to finally spend time at the much-talked about Moody cottage), it had been way too long since they'd been to our house.  I knew from my first photo request at the airport when we picked them up that we were in for a crazy 10 days.  :-)

"Science World was awesome"

I must admit that I was a bit disappointed in Robee's lack of 'head exploding' reaction to La Casa Gelato where they have over 235 flavours at any given time, but Sherri sure seemed impressed.

The Stop Motion Studio app was a huge hit and provided hours of entertainment.  "Harry Potter and the Love-Struck Weasley" should be coming soon to a theatre near you.

Capilano Suspension bridge was fun...

.... even after it started raining.  If I remember correctly, in this photo Bradyn and Robee were pretending they were Ewoks from Star Wars.

Rainy Vancouver selfie in our rocking yellow ponchos.

I love my sis!

Had to have our picnic lunch in the car while it poured rain outside.

Making Lego mini figures at the Lego store.

On Sunday, we headed to Cypress Lookout to recreate some family photos.

After Cypress Mountain, we headed on to the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish.

We thought it would be fun to go on an 'easy/intermediate' 1.6 km hiking trail.  "Um, Sher, are you sure we didn't veer off the trail?"  The answer is yes, we did.  Our little 1.6 km trek turned into a 5 km one, but we were able to keep the kids distracted with the promise of Gatorade when we got back to the gondola.  (No, I am not above bribing children to stop the whining.)

One little, two little, three little monkeys.

I think this is my favourite picture of the whole trip.  My favourite kids, in beautiful BC.

After another picnic in the car, we headed to Britannia Mine Museum.

On Wednesday we checked out Fort Langley.  Robee was thrilled when Bradyn and I gave him the inside scoop about bringing granola bars to trade with the blacksmith.  He got a candle holder that he could use for the beeswax candle he had made on a school trip back home.

After a stop at the dollar store for some flip-flops, we headed to Belcarra Beach.  We were too late to see any starfish (the surf was too far in) but the kids found a ton of baby crabs.

On our last night together, we all went to Red Robin for dinner.  I like to think of this as Sherri's celebratory photo.  A successful trip with only a few melt downs and not one mention of calling WestJet to book a flight home early.  Yeah!!!  Can't wait until their next trip when we head to Vancouver Island.
