Happy Easter
This year, Easter was not quite the same in the Reeves household. We forgot to leave carrots out for the Easter Bunny before Bradyn went to bed. However, when she decided to come downstairs (after being in bed for an hour) to tell me the TV was too loud, we had our chance.
We also got to write our letter - she dictated, and I wrote: "Dear Easter Bunny, Eat as many as you like but if you do not want to finish, then you can find a zip-lock bag in the third drawer in the kitchen to put the rest of the carrots in. Love Bradyn xoxo" Nope, not my kid.
Bradyn is fighting a cold (just in time for Hawaii - fabulous. Whoops - next blog spoiler alert!) so she didn't actually wake up until 8:30 am. Then, she asked to watch a movie in my bed. She didn't even remember the Easter Bunny had come the night before. Since Kevin didn't get home until really late, I thought I'd play along, hoping to hold her off from going downstairs long enough that Kevin would be up and able to watch her hunt for her loot. Alas, it was not to be.
This year, Bradyn actually posed several times so I could take her picture, without me asking. (I think having her own 'personal' photographer at the wedding turned her into a camera junkie.) It was funny to see her looking at something she'd found and just pause - she was waiting for me to take her picture. You can just see the top of it's head in the bucket, but this is our Easter tradition - the Lindt chocolate bunny, wrapped in gold with a red ribbon collar and bell.
"Take my picture mom"
I think this was my favourite part of the morning. "I don't think there's anything left in here..... where is it? I don't see anything." Duh - turn your head - it's practically right at eye-level Bradyn.
Sadly, we didn't get to go to Leslie's for the annual Easter Egg Hunt & BBQ this year. Kevin didn't get home until the wee hours so he slept in. In addition, our house was pretty much a disaster trying to get us all packed. And wouldn't you know it - there was no rain this year. Hopefully next year the weather will be just as good. For dinner, we got to feast on the cake Bradyn decorated at a birthday party Saturday afternoon. The fondant was a bit chewy, but I sure was impressed with her talents.
