December Festivities
I realize that I still have not put up those 'then & now' Halloween pictures I promised, but maybe one day. In the meantime, I thought I'd catch you upon on our December festivities.
We celebrated my birthday by going to see the movie "Frozen" and then decorating our Christmas tree. When we were finished, I asked Bradyn to put on her new Christmas dress and do a few poses for me. Here she is hanging our prized 2013 Christmas decoration.... a Hogwarts school emblem from our trip to Universal Studios in May.
On the 14th, Grandma and Grandpa took Bradyn to see a performance of The Nutcracker. She LOVED it.
On the 15th, Bradyn went to a concert with Grandma & Grandpa where there was a real-life nativity scene - right up Bradyn's alley.
On the 16th, the CP Holiday Train rolled into Port Coquitlam for its last stop on the trip across Canada.
On the 17th, Bradyn's school put on performances of 'A Christmas Carol'. Her class was asked to dress up in grey and ragged clothing for their song 'That's The Way It Is'. Daddy's newsboy cap was the perfect finishing touch to her ripped-knee tights and too-short sleeved shirt/sweater ensemble.
Before the night performance, Bradyn finally wrote her letter to Santa. Short and sweet.
Putting it in the mailbox across the street (in the pouring rain).
Uh, Dad? Can we come in?
Bradyn made cards for her teachers this year and drew some wonderful Christmas pictures - I just have to share.
It is now 10:30 am on Christmas Eve. We've made one batch of cookies, have some dough for another batch in the fridge chilling, set up a bed for Uncle Dallas & Aunty Ita, Bradyn had her bath, we're wrapping gifts and I have to tell you, I'm exhausted. As you can no doubt imagine, Bradyn is bouncing off the walls this morning and I'm about ready to poke my eyes out with a stick.
Dear Santa.... all I want for Christmas is to survive.
:-)
