Halloween Festivities

After a little flip-flopping on the costume idea (first it was a witch, then it was Tinkerbell), Miss B settled on being a witch for Halloween this year. I had seen this costume at Winners last year and was dying to buy it, but it was way too big. On the 25th, our Mommy Group hosted our 3rd annual Halloween party. It was so wierd seeing all of babies dressed up and playing with the 'second generation' of babies. (Sorry folks - we're still sticking with one.)

That night, we checked out a local house that had been all decked out for Halloween. It was fantastic! Although Bradyn alternated between fear and excitement, she was clearly no worse for wear on the drive home, because she had Kevin & I both convinced she was using her car seat as a toilet. "I'm peeing. I'm going pee and poo right now. I'm going pee and poo in your car." Once we got home and found her completely dry - "I was just teasing you"

Daddy carved our big pumpkin this year - the scary pirate eye patch.

After we handed out some candy, Brady and I got bundled up to head out trick or treating. Unfortunately, as we headed out our front gate, we encountered 2 kids with masks on, and that set the tone for the night. She was so scared. After the kids took off their masks and I was able to convince her they were just kids underneath, we headed to our first house. The scary music set her off again and although I convinced her to knock on the door and say "Trick or treat", she told the nice lady that she wanted to go home. "I'm too scared of the maskises. I want to go to my home." We went to 4 houses in the cul de sac, and then, after promising it would be the last house, we headed to the fully decorated one across the street, which Kevin & Brady had been admiring for weeks. Bad idea. It's a pretty spooky looking place and close up, it's even spookier. The lady actually came out to us to give Bradyn a chocolate bar and tell her it was all just pretend stuff.

House #6 of our trick or treating - Home Sweet Home.

Our pumpkin family - the pirate and the littlest pumpkin.
