What Day Is It?

I can't believe that it's March 8th already. Where does the time go? I wake up at 6 am to feed Bradyn and the next thing you know, I'm feeding her at midnight! How am I supposed to get anything done? What am I going to do when Kevin goes back to work and Brady and I are left to our own devices during the day? When I was working at my 'real' job, I took pride in my multi-tasking abilities. Being a mom takes that to a whole new level. I now understand why the title SuperMom was developed. Things are still going really well but I think the change in sleeping habits is starting to catch up with me. If it isn't obvious from the bags under my eyes, it sure is from the way I can't keep a train of thought going or remember things from one minute to the next. But I wouldn't trade sleep for anything if it meant I had to give up my baby girl. She has become the centre of our world. She changes every day and I could spend every waking moment just staring at her. I spent 15 minutes the other day just watching her sleep, amazed at all the facial expressions she was making. What do babies dream about? One second she was smiling, the next she looked terrified. It just made my heart melt.
We've had another busy week but the best part was going to the airport to pick up Gramma on Saturday. Bradyn never has to worry about being lonely with Gramma here because Gramma is always cuddling her and showering her with kisses. It feels so nice to have my mom here. Not only is she a big help, but it also gives me a sense of security knowing I can turn to an 'expert' if I'm feeling overwhelmed. We've got some video footage but believe it or not, I don't have a picture of Brady & Gramma yet. I promise to post one soon. In the meantime, here are some more great shots that Nadine Inkster managed to get from our session, even though Bradyn was crying. Keep working that magic Nadine!

That last picture of Bradyn and Kevin is awesome. You're a brave, brave man Kevin. When the Kegger was that small, I was always mindful of the torrent of poop that could be unleashed at any moment.

Now six months later she poops once a week...it sounds good doesn't it? The problem is that breast fed baby poop is almost potporri-like in nature, you can leave it around the house, not take the bum bag (garbage bag filled with diapers) out for a week, or just use cloth diapers...but when food starts? Oh my lord the stench.

Baby poop. Who would have thought I'd be writing about baby poop?

Wow - you guys really did get some great pictures! I know gramma was so looking forward to her trip, and of course she's not going to put Bradyn down - it's in the grandparent contract! As for the multitasking, yeah, well, eating while standing at the counter bouncing a baby in your arms is the new translation of the term. It does get easier, and by that I mean your standards about housework and laundry go way down! But it's all worth it, because they change and grow so fast.

Sherri is right - your standards definitely go down. I did a load of baby laundry yesterday, made cookies and made the bed - that was a pretty busy day for us!

Enjoy this time while you have it. Our time is already half-over! I'm sad just thinking about it.
